Philosophy

At the Northwest Wine Anthem we are investigating, learning about, imbibing and celebrating the wines made in the part of the world known as the Pacific Northwest. We believe that the concept of terroir is vital to the creation of fine wine and that the weather, geography, topography, soil composition and other factors here in the various NW wine growing regions produces some of the world's best, and most reasonably priced wines. We hope to share these treasures with our readers both here in the Pacific Northwest and all around the wine drinking world.

We believe firmly that wine is a luxury, and something not to be taken too, too seriously, yet here we are doing just that. Ralph Waldo Emerson said that "a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." So we say the hell with consistency.

We hope to make wine and the mysteries that may surround it accessible to our readers through humorous, insightful and informative postings. Let us know how we're doing.
